My stuff arrived last Friday. (Finally!) Three month os living a rather spartan life, and suddenly I have all my clothes and hobbies at my fingertips.
Well, in boxes strewn all over the living room.
The packing box with my photographs and negatives was opened by Customs (no surpise) and gone through. I don't mind this, really. I did expect it with the current freaking out in the media every time child pornography is found.
I'd had everything sorted, and photographs in one photo box, and negatives in another photo box. It was well organized and easily repackable.
I lifted out the photo's photo box, all the photos slid out into the larger packing box. That I also could have lived with, had they put the photos back in the envelopes, or even put the ripped box back in so the tear was obvious. (ie - on the top).
The photos weren't put in their envelopes, or even next to their envelopes. They were just shoved in, and foribly so judging by the damage to a couple of the photos. *sigh* Some of those no longer have matching negatives, and have not been scanned yet. No wonder the photo boxes were ripped.
I guess I should just be thankful that they did not do any damage to the 20+ years of negatives in the other photo box.
I'm in Australia now - I arrived Friday early morning.
The trip was uneventful, and perhaps a bit odd - the customs people in both Canada and Australia were in jovial moods. Slept most of my flight away, watched a few movies (two of which I barely recall anything from, so I guess I slept.)
Today is my anniversary of being on dA. It's been quite the ride. 19 pageviews to 4k. Pretty cool, that.
Lots to do, but a different type of lots to do than the months leading up to this. I am wickedly excited to be where I have been stepping towards for so many months.
Now to take a step back and see where my next steps will take me.
